“People’s master of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, winner of the Medal” Fame ” Nomon Oblokulov is one of the experienced Potters who make a worthy contribution to the development of national craftsmanship, to bring it to the next generation. Nomon Oblokulov was born in 1964 in the city of Urgut to a family of master craftsmen. From an early age, he did not leave the workshop of his father, the seventh generation of the famous Abdullo kulol dynasty from urgut, an art figure who served in Uzbekistan, a participant in exhibitions in more than 70 countries of the world, Qimb Oblokulov. As early as his studies in high school, one of the most ancient areas of folk applied art began to perfectly study the secrets of pottery.

Usually Potters operate in 3 directions, winemakers-masters of vertical-form products, cosagers-masters of horizontal-form products and furnishers. After his labor, Numon aka grew up to be a mature master working in all three of these areas of pottery. – When making pottery, I do not use molds, templates, I create only by hand on a simple Hammer, – says Nomon Obloculov. – I do pots and vases up to 80 centimeters high, trays with a diameter of more than 70 centimeters and volumetric hums up to 200 liters in the style of making a pan. Even when polishing the pottery, I make paint using oxides obtained from the burning of local raw materials, white stone (quartz), copper and iron. This is my style, ” says Nomon Oblokulov.

Nomon Obloculov has participated in exhibitions in Japan, the United States, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Russia, and many other foreign countries with unique pottery of his own design. Since 1997 he has been a member of the Craftsman Association. The eighth generation of the Potter dynasty of urgut, Noman Obloqulov aka the seven noble ancestors, has been teaching the secrets of pottery that gained fame to the children of the ninth generations of the dynasty, Inomjan and Muhammad.

Children pursuing the father’s profession are also working selflessly on the way to further raise the fame of the Urgut pottery school, to ensure its immortality. During his career, nomon Oblokulov adhered to ancient traditions in pottery, creating works in a unique style. In the works of the master, the tradition of the pottery of the city of Kohna Afrosiob is clearly manifested. Artistic dishes are distinguished by a separate “reading” of their form. That is, the pottery he made was made with the upper neck-and-mouth part stretched and the end of the shape, elegant in appearance and embellished with various ornaments.
