One of the important directions pursued in the field of handicrafts is the establishment of Centers for the development of crafts in cities and districts, where folk crafts and creative traditions are widely developed. As we all know, the purpose of organizing centers is to educate, promote, teach young people about our national crafts to tourists visiting our country. In addition, such centers serve to preserve folk applied art, develop our national crafts and preserve them for the future generation, from master craftsmen to teach young people the secrets of this field.
Until the adoption of Decree PF-5242 of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan “on measures for the further development of crafts and the comprehensive support of artisans”of November 17, 2017, only 13 centers were operating in 4 regions of Uzbekistan, while today, a total of 78 craft centers were built in 14 regions of the Republic, creating more than 5 thousand new jobs. Another new Craft Center is being built by the “Craftsman” Association in the city of Qarshi, Kashkadarya region.The launch of this center again finds expression in the employment of many citizens , young people, by engaging women in the trade.
