In paragraph 67.4 of Appendix No. 4 to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, от 30.01.2025 г. № DP-16, a task has been assigned to expand cashless and online payment mechanisms for artisans in cooperation with modern technologies and local and international payment systems.
In response to this directive, a meeting was held on April 7, 2025, at the Tourism Committee’s building with representatives of the international VISA organization for Central Asia. It was agreed that opportunities should be implemented for artisans serving tourists in our country to conduct sales based on cashless and online payments.
Accordingly, the Tourism Committee, the “Hunarmand” Association, and the VISA international organization have jointly developed a payment mechanism through the MARTA app, allowing artisans to make payments using VISA, MasterCard, Uzcard, HUMO cards, and online wallets such as Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay.
The MARTA app transforms smartphones with Android 8.0 and above, equipped with NFC technology, into payment terminals. It supports contactless, contact bank cards, and TezQR payments and is certified according to full security standards.
Through this mechanism, an online cash register function has been implemented for sales fiscalization, and complying with tax legislation has been simplified.
Artisans who are subscribers of MobiUz and Ucell telecommunication operators now have the opportunity to accept payments without an internet connection.
A special video clip has also been created to promote this program among artisans.
