On March 18th of this year, the Art Gallery of Uzbekistan in Tashkent will host the traditional handicraft exhibition “Fergana Arabesques.”
The Art Gallery of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the “Hunarmand” Association, is launching a series of exhibitions dedicated to unique handicrafts from different regions of Uzbekistan.
Each region of Uzbekistan has its own history, shaped by its distinctive natural landscapes and ethnocultural connections. It is also home to unique handicraft schools.
This exhibition is dedicated to Fergana. It showcases artisans who preserve and continue the authentic traditions of the Fergana school in areas such as pottery, weaving, wood carving, jewelry-making, chasing, embroidery, and carpet weaving. The exhibition is held in celebration of the Navruz holiday.
The exhibition will feature the works of potters Sharofiddin Yusupov and Alisher Nazirov, masters of chasing art Hasan Umarov and Zokir Gafurov, woodcarvers Mirzayunus Umarov, Mahamatali Yunusov, and Jamshid Madgoipov, masters of national fabrics Rasuljon Mirzaahmedov and Ibrohim Sultonov, embroiderer Nargiza Sherkhojaeva, and carpet weaver Ilhom Davletov.
