Gazgan marble – stone turned into art

Living symbol of craftsmanship: Tohir Rakhimov

In Gazgan town of Navoi region, renowned stone carver Tohir Rakhimov has been “breathing life” into marble for over 40 years. His works adorn hundreds of historic monuments and pilgrimage sites across our country.

Master’s creations include
– Tombstones
– Mirror frames
– Decorative grilles and doors
– Sculptures and platters
– Decorations of historical monuments

His grandfather, Abdurakhim Turdiev, was also a stone carver. For Rakhimov, this craft is not just a profession but a symbol of inheritance, a responsibility, and an act of love.

“If you love the stone, it speaks to you,” says the master.

Tohir Rakhimov is not only an artist but also the head of a school of craftsmanship, training the next generation of apprentices.

Gazgan Marble – the pride of our country. Tohir Rahimov is its “voice.”
