Delegation of the World Crafts Council in Fergana!

An international delegation (from the USA, India, Kuwait, Russia, and South Africa) led by Saad Al-Qaddumi, President of the World Crafts Council (WCC AISBL), is visiting Fergana region.
Today, July 24, the delegation met with Khayrullo Bozorov, the Khokim of the Fergana region.
At the meeting, the khokim, welcoming the guests, highlighted the region’s rich craftsmanship traditions, notably the renowned pottery art of Rishton and the activities of local master artisans.
They discussed the proposal to grant Rishton the title “World Crafts City.”
In his speech, Saad Al-Qaddumi praised Uzbekistan’s artisanal potential and outlined clear WCC initiatives to support local craftsmen, showcase their work internationally, and foster new collaborations.
The delegation will also visit the workshops of local artisans in the region and become acquainted with examples of traditional art.
