According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the establishment of the museum of the history of traditional Rishtan ceramics”, a non-governmental museum dedicated to the history of Rishtan traditional pottery is being established.
The main tasks of the museum include identifying, collecting, and preserving museum items and collections, conducting cultural, educational, scientific, and training activities, teaching pottery based on the “master-apprentice” tradition to young people, accurately reflecting the rich cultural heritage of pottery and its role in human history, utilizing modern information technologies in organizing exhibitions, and establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign museums for exhibitions.
On the instructions of R. Mirzaakhmedov, Chairman of the Republican “Hunarmand” Association, art historian Binafsha Nodir was engaged in the design work for the “Museum of traditional Rishtan ceramics.” On May 1 of this year, art historian Binafsha Nodir made a working visit to the Fergana region.
During her visit, the art historian met with master potters in the Rishtan district. She reviewed the historical exhibits and the building site for the ” Museum of traditional Rishtan ceramics” and provided her recommendations for its design. The initial steps for establishing this museum have already begun.
